I don't believe in fortune, fate, or luck And it don't believe in me It's just a cheap excuse to pass the buck And dodge all responsibility I'm just sitting around watching the dark storm clouds Fill the sky Waiting on the bottom to drop out Even though everything's probably fine Chorus: It's not about what you thought It's about what you know It's not about what you've got But how to let it go I won't apologize For choosing this life For having a good time. I will sleep in the arms of the girl I love In a twin sized bed And I'll watch the sunrise pierce through the dust To kiss her head Well i call next There are possums in the walls I think we all just need a break So come on over grab a beer, I'll make some calls CJ's getting a tattoo of your name Betcha $20 It's not about what you thought It's about what you know It's not about what you've got But how to let it go I won't apologize For choosing this life For having a good time. While it lasts Because the good times are rolling fast We are not our mistakes Go ahead seize the day Take a deep breath Who Cares what comes next? In this moment we are not stuck, We just don't believe in luck.

Quiet car and a four hour drive Signs and states pass me by Radio static fills the void But my thoughts cut through the noise Playing with fire and getting burnt These are some of the lessons I'll never learn I can't seem to keep my nose clean I can't seem to think before I speak I scrub and I scrub for hours on end But my hands remain blood red I deal in the currency of truth But lately I've been writing IOUs I can't seem to keep my nose clean Please don't go, please don't leave I can't seem to think before I speak Please don't go, please don't leave, Please don't leave, Please don't leave. I'm so sorry Please don't go Please don't leave Please don't leave Please don't leave

Everyone want's to sing about the Bay But let's talk about the Sound Let's talk about the color, the people, the rain The land of pine, and punk, and clouds Been thinking 'bout skipping town all the time The back seat of my car feels most like home I will leave all of my problems far behind It never works that way but I've just gotta go Blame the winter madness Call it cabin fever Say it's seasonal sadness But it goes so much deeper And I'm losing sleep Scared of what I'll miss I can't see the unseen I can't handle this Gravity is not my friend As the tears in my dreams will prove When your ankles are this weak life's a constant downward trend At this point I don't have much to lose But I will chill at the bottom of this barrel I'll be there when you hit the ground And I'll stretch out my own hand, I'll pull you from the peril You'll probably roll your eyes and turn me down I'll stick around Blame the winter madness Call it cabin fever Say it's seasonal sadness But it goes so much deeper And you're losing sleep Scared of what you'll miss You can't see the unseen You can't handle this Can't handle this Let's take this elsewhere Can't handle this There must be somewhere Blame the winter madness Call it cabin fever Say it's seasonal sadness But it goes so much deeper And we're losing sleep Scared of what we'll miss We can't see the unseen We can't handle this Can't handle this Let's take this elsewhere Can't handle this There must be somewhere

about

Anchor the Airship's debut album, Gravity Is Not Your Friend is a testament to the contrast between optimism and cynicism, idealism versus facing the harsh realities of life, and how they mix. With upbeat music, angsty punchy vocals, and penetrating lyrics, Gravity Is Not Your Friend deals with loss, gain, relationships, and the idea that things don't matter as much as we think we do.

Thanks to the mini mobo crew, Carl and the Abrode, Job, and everyone else who ever believed in us, Carl (again), Aiden, Emily, and Xavier Corrall for all of the design and photography they pulled off, to our parents for believing in us, to Wes Montgomery for pushing us into setting a deadline for this EP, to Amy Stuppiello and Malissa Wolfe for putting up with our noisey ass practices, Harambe the Gorilla(RIP), Xavier (again) for the sick vox and lead guitar, and lastly special thanks to not only God but also Jesus for the infinite inspiration.
